FEMALE FOUNDER’S STORY

Founder Rana Lustyan shares her story: "I am literally obsessed with all things sweet and sugary. My heart flutters when I get my first glance of the dessert menu. I get butterflies when I bake. This obsession is why I went to Le Cordon Bleu culinary school and focused on pastry. This obsession is why I walked into one of the best restaurants in L.A. and asked award-winning pastry chef, Sherry Yard for a job - and got it! That was the start of a career that led me to work in the kitchens of some of the best restaurants in the nation like Spago (Los Angeles) and Boulevard (San Francisco).

In 2009, my entrepreneurial spirit was sparked after hearing that many consumers were getting sick from eating "for baking" cookie dough you can buy in the store. I realized that there were no safe options for those of us that loved the cookie dough more than the cookies, and I was gonna be the first to create it and make it taste amazing!

Once we developed the original dough base flavors, we moved onto the fun part - mix-ins and swirl-ins! We searched local stores to European chocolatiers to find the best. Our Callebaut Dark Belgian Chocolate is one of our not-so-secret weapons. Our all-natural rainbow sprinkles and chocolate sandwich cookies give you that great burst of sweetness and textural crunch but none of the artificial colors and additives. Our handmade ingredients like hand-whipped, organic vanilla frosting and cinnamon cobbler crumble are all scratch made from my personal recipes. Today, to be doing what I do, and bringing a product to people who love it, is a total dream come true."
