GET TO KNOW

Nguyen Coffee Supply is expanding third-wave coffee culture by celebrating diversity in the coffee community, offering ethically sourced organic beans, and championing the people behind the world’s second largest coffee bean producing country. Woman-owned and roasted fresh in Brooklyn, New York, Nguyen Coffee Supply works directly with coffee producers in Vietnam to sustainably source premium arabica and robusta beans. With three blends, cleverly named Moxy, Truegrit, and Loyalty, the coffee brews well with sustainable phin filters, as cold brew, as espresso, and in pour overs.

What is Vietnamese coffee?

  • It’s coffee made with coffee beans grown in Vietnam. Be aware that if you think you've tried Vietnamese coffee in a café, the coffee beans may not have actually been from Vietnam!

  • It's strong, low-acidic, and delicious.

  • Compared to arabica beans, Vietnamese robusta coffee has some unique benefits: up to twice the caffeine (real energy without the jitters), 60% less sugar, and up to 80% more antioxidants.

  • It's typically made with sustainable, reusable Phin Filters, the Vietnamese brew tool.

FEMALE FOUNDER’S STORY

Nguyen Coffee Supply was founded by Sahra Nguyen, a first generation Vietnamese American and a quintessential Millennial. Her multifaceted creative career has included award-winning documentary filmmaker, restaurant co-founder, and podcast agency co-founder. Now, through coffee, Sahra is telling a new story and creating new opportunities for people within the global coffee community - from the farmers to consumers.

As a coffee enthusiast, Sahra loved exploring emerging coffee concepts in New York and around the world. However, she noticed that there was a huge misperception about coffee beans grown in Vietnam. Big coffee companies were calling them “inferior", which felt irrelevant since beans don’t exist in hierarchy. She knew there was an opportunity to properly showcase the distinct profiles of arabica and robusta beans grown in Vietnam.

With a majority of Sahra's extended family living in Vietnam, she grew up visiting the country often and developed a strong connection to Vietnamese food, culture, and coffee. Once she set on the mission to rewrite the narrative of coffee from Vietnam, her aunt introduced her to an old friend who owned two coffee farms in Da Lat. In 2016, they visited the farm together and established a direct-trade and honest relationship to bring his green coffee beans to the U.S. for Sahra to roast them fresh in New York under the Nguyen Coffee Supply label.
