FEMALE FOUNDER’S STORY
Frustrated with the lack of high quality vegan shoes that could compete in the market alongside high fashion brands, Costa Rica native and Parsons School of Design graduate Francisca Pineda took her years of fashion designing experience in NYC and launched BHAVA Studio, to create ethical shoes that would fill that void.
Francisca is an award winning fashion designer with almost two decades of experience designing apparel and accessories for New York's top brands. As a head designer, she traveled all around the world to seek out the most beautiful materials available, and shop the most exclusive fashion markets from Hong Kong to Paris.
Francisca is fully committed to ethical and environmentally conscious design, has taught Ethical Fashion and Sustainable Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, and is also the founder of the Ethical Fashion Academy.
